TitleScrapbook labelled `Wycombe Family Notes', compiled by Charles W Raffety.
DescriptionCharles Raffety is described in one of the newspaper cuttings in this volume as an authority on High Wycombe's history (p.102). He transcribed the poems about Wycombe Corporation from the scrapbook compiled by Henry Gibbons (see D-CN/24/14). This scrapbook appears to have been compiled in the early part of the 20th century. It begins with cuttings of the census figures for Wycombe Union in 1911. Then follow historical notes on places and people in High Wycombe, including extensive description and reminiscences by local people of Disraeli ("Dizzy"), old pubs, Wheelers Bank, Wycombe ghosts, Hannah Ball, and the Dashwood family. The Caringtons are rarely mentioned. There is also a manuscript copy of sale catalogue of Wycombe Abbey Estate, 1798, then called Loaks (p.110)
